- The Spanish multinational company takes another step forward in improving even more the reliability provided to its customers, suppliers, institutions and partners.
- Isidoro J. Alanís, President and CEO of Global Exchange Group, believes that ‘being excellent in cybersecurity, technology and data protection is part of Global Exchange's DNA’, and stresses ‘the importance of security in our day-to-day work as a global company’.
Being the best in all our processes and services is a priority for Global Exchange, especially in the fields of cybersecurity, IT and data protection. That is why obtaining the certification of the international standard ISO 27001 is a particularly important milestone at all levels.
What is ISO 27001?
It is an international information security standard that certifies Global Exchange as a company compliant with the highest standards in information security control which it applies worldwide.
This is an important step forward that makes its security scope much more robust at all levels. This certification lasts for three years, although the Spanish multinational company has reported that once a year it will carry severe controls and audits for both compliance and level and control.
What are the implications of obtaining this certification?
The ISO 27001 is key to demonstrating the proper protection of one of the most important assets of an organization: the information of its customers, its employees, the corporate image and all types of private information. For a company like Global Exchange, obtaining the ISO 27001 certification is especially important because it certifies its cybersecurity control for currency exchange activity.
This is also a reinforcement of the trust our customers, suppliers, entities and institutions have in Global Exchange, including central banks of multiple countries or airport authorities. For all of them, cybersecurity is a fundamental and strategic value.
Receiving this certificate proves that the company has all the means it needs to prevent compromising the integrity, confidentiality and availability of its information.
Global Exchange's commitment to security
Obtaining this certification proves Global Exchange's commitment to encouraging and implementing high security and transparency measures in its operations globally. To receive this recognition, the Spanish multinational company has had to undergo 94 controls in the areas of human resources, operations and technology to demonstrate that it manages information securely at a technical and operational level in all the projects and processes it implements.
Manuel Martín Portillo, Corporate Director of Technology at Global Exchange Group, said that, ‘*Having a strong and powerful cybersecurity team helps significantly in terms of protection at all levels. But we are not settling with this, and we will continue to invest in improving our security infrastructure to always maintain the highest standards of quality and protection in this area, which is strategic and fundamental for our company.
Meanwhile, Isidoro J. Alanís, President and CEO of Global Exchange Group, said that, ‘being excellent in cybersecurity, IT and protection environment has been part of Global Exchange's corporate philosophy since the very beginning. This commitment is reflected today in receiving this certificate, which is undoubtedly a step forward but should make us even more aware of the importance of security in our day-to-day work as a global company’.
