Our currency exchange offices in airports remain open during the entire time frame when there are flights (some even offer 24-hour service), so that no passenger is left unattended when they need to exchange currency.
Currency exchange at offices
If you exchange your currency with Global Exchange, you will recive and excellent service and the peace of mind of knowing you are working with a world-leading company in the sector. An exchange commission may apply in some countries. You can consult our Customer Service Representative at the counter.
Generally, we do not charge a commission on any of our foreign currency exchange operations, only an intermediation margin that will be lower the more amount you exchange or if you decide to make the exchange online versus a face-to-face at a physical office (airports, hotels and shopping centers). However, in some countries an exchange commission may apply. You can consult our customer service representatives at the counter.
In order to offer the most complete service possible to our customers, we provide different methods to pay for your currency in our offices: cash, Visa or Mastercard credit cards, debit cards such as Visa Electron and travelers checks (these methods may vary depending on the country).
You can use this discount on your next currency exchange by presenting the 5% discount space that appears on our envelopes at any of our offices in the same country. This discount is applied to the exchange margin and has no expiration date.

‘Please remember that Global Exchange acts as a mere agent or intermediary in the refund of VAT or Tax Free. Our role is limited exclusively to returning the cash amount corresponding to your refund upon presentation of your duly validated and stamped invoices. In our exchange offices at the airports in Spain (Madrid, Barcelona, Alicante, Malaga and Tenerife South) we work with Travel Tax Free, Global Blue, Innova/Epay, Planet and Tax Refund.

‘If you are a non-resident of the European Union and you have been travelling in Spain or any other EU country, you are entitled to a refund of the taxes paid on your purchases in the EU area. At Global Exchange we will handle your tax refund and pay you the corresponding amount in cash at our authorised offices in Spain, France, Denmark, Switzerland, Morocco and Turkey.
In Spain, you can apply for a VAT refund for any purchase you make. All you have to do is request a Tax Free invoice at the establishment and then, before returning to your country of origin, stamp/validate these invoices at Customs and go to our Tax Free offices at the airport to process the refund. The validation periods are 3 months from the date of purchase and in Spain 4 years to collect the refund once the invoices have been validated’.
